Parenting Group starts in Hertfordshire

HertSpeak and CoreKids Hertfordshire welcomed a new group of parents affected by substance use to our successful seven week Positive Parenting course. We are grateful to Oughton Children’s Centres and Hertforshire Children’s Trust Partnership who have provided a family-friendly venue and creche facilities.  This group helps parents with practical and emotional support to build on their existing parenting skills.

 

CoreFamilies – Pilot Project launched in Hertfordshire

CoreKids has now expanded its family therapy services to the friends, family members and carers of adults with drug problems. We are excited about the opportunity to provide this well-needed service and the learning and knowledge we will gain from it.
 

Outcome Tool

In conjunction with the University of Bath, CoreKids has developed an outcome tool to measure changes in parenting skills in adults; and social functioning, emotional wellbeing, and resilience in children as a result of engaging with CoreKids services. This will be piloted across our CoreKids sites over the next three months, and will be fully implemented from early 2010.

 

Parenting Group starts in Wandsworth

CoreKids Wandsworth began its latest Positive Parenting Group at WDP Wandsworth. We were delighted to welcome new clients from other services across the borough as well as some of our existing clients who have been accessing 1:1 parenting support from CoreKids Wandsworth. We feel this is a valuable opportunity to bring together parents in similar situations to support each other as well as building on their existing parenting skills.
 

HertSpeak Launch

Our 3-year Comic Relief funded, Alcohol Hidden Harm Project, HertSpeak was launched today. HertSpeak is a family support service offering a range of practical and therapeutic interventions for children and families affected by parental alcohol use.
